The airport is situated 11km (7 miles) southeast of Houston.
Driving Directions
The airport is easily accessible via the major roads and motorways connecting the entire metropolitan area. I-45 borders the airport and integrates a road network serving the entire Gulf Coast industrial complex.
Car Parking
Public parking (tel: (713) 641 7770) is available in a four-level garage, which has direct access to the terminal building. An additional surface car park is located within walking distance of the terminal. There are spaces for more than 4,000 cars at the airport. Up-to-date parking and travel information is available on the radio (1610 AM) when approaching the airport.
Car Hire
Companies include Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Thrifty. Desks are located on the baggage reclaim level, which is the lower level of the terminal building. Buses and shuttle vans transport passengers from the terminal to car hire pick-up sites.
Public Transport
Bus: The METRO bus service (tel: (713) 652 8990; www.ridemetro.org) leaves from Curbzone 13, outside baggage reclaim, on the lower level, for services into Houston. Shuttle services are provided by Supershuttle (tel: (713) 523 8888 or 1 800 258 3826 in the USA only; www.supershuttle.com) to various locations throughout the Houston area.
Taxi: Taxis leave from Curbzone 3 outside baggage reclaim, on the lower level.
Information and Help Desks
There is a visitor information desk in the baggage reclaim level and uniformed, bilingual special service representatives (SSRs) stationed at key locations throughout the Terminal. SSRs can provide medical assistance and airport staff are available to book the airport’s meeting room or suggest accommodation options at some of the major hotels nearby. The black airport telephones located throughout the terminal are for paging assistance. Information is available (tel: (713) 640 3000).
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Facilities include ATMs and bureaux de change. Paid for Wi-Fi Internet access is available in the terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are over a dozen eateries at the airport, including a Mexican restaurant, ice cream parlour, fast-food and coffee shops.
Shopping: Shops are located in the central lobby upper level of the terminal, as well as in the central concourse and concourses A and C; shops include newsagents and gift shops.
Luggage: Trolleys are available for hire in the baggage reclaim area.
Conference and Business Facilities
The airport offers a wheelchair-accessible meeting room on Concourse C which can be booked through a SSR (see above). Bureau de change can provide fax and photocopying facilities. Paid for Wi-Fi Internet access is available in the terminal. Meeting and event rooms for up to 150 people are available at the Holiday Inn (tel: (713) 946 8900; www.ichotelsgroup.com) less than 1km (0.6 miles) from the terminal building.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
There is disabled access in all areas of the terminal. Visually- or hearing-impaired passengers can request information and assistance (tel: (713) 640 3000 or TDD (713) 641 7781). The black airport telephones located throughout the terminal are for paging assistance.

Nearby hotels include the Courtyard Hobby Airport (tel: (713) 910 1700; www.marriott.com), Hobby Hilton (tel: (713) 645 3000; www1.hilton.com) and Holiday Inn (tel: (713) 946 8900; www.ichotelsgroup.com). Passengers can also use courtesy hotel telephones located in the baggage reclaim area to arrange pick-up.
