The airport is situated 20km (12 miles) north of Hartford, Connecticut and 20km (12 miles) south of Springfield, Massachusetts.

2008 saw the completion of an eight-year improvement programme, providing additional retail and restaurant facilities, plus expansion of the terminal concourse.

Driving Directions
The airport is situated near exit 40 from the I-91 north-south link, which is accessed from the east via routes I-90, I-84 and I-291, and from the west via route I-84.
Car Parking
There is both on- and off-site parking at the airport (tel: (860) 627 3555). A 3,500-space parking garage, offering short- and long-term parking, is located directly in front of Terminal A, within easy walking distance. Additionally, a short- and long-term on-airport car park is located close to Terminal B. Five long-term car parks are served by courtesy shuttle buses, daily 24 hours. Several companies provide off-site parking with approximately 12,000 additional parking spaces, all within 1.6km (1 mile) of the airport.
Car Hire
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Thrifty are all represented at the airport. The car hire car park is located next to long-term car park 3 and is served by shuttle buses running from the terminals, daily 24 hours.
Public Transport
Bus: Connecticut Transit (tel: (860) 522 8101; www.cttransit.com) runs buses between downtown Hartford and the airport, including the express Airport Flyer. Valley Transporter (tel: (413) 253 1350; www.valleytransporter.com) offers a door-to-door shuttle service, running hourly from both terminals until 2430; desks are located in the baggage reclaim areas of both terminals. Thomas Transportation (tel: (603) 352 5550; www.thomastransportation.com) also offers a scheduled shuttle service from the airport.
Taxi: A taxi service (tel: (860) 627 3128 or 3588) is available from ground transportation service co-ordinators located at counters on the lower level curbside of Terminal A and next to baggage reclaim area two in Terminal B. Taxis are normally available 0700-2400. Outside these hours, taxis can be called from airport phones or hailed from the curb outside baggage reclaim.
Information and Help Desks
A Visitor Information Booth is located in Terminal A (tel: (860) 292 2056) and provides tourist information, airport directions and paging services. Connecticut Welcome Centres are located in both terminals for tourist information and brochures.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Banks, ATMs and Internet kiosks are located at the airport, in both terminals. Telephones are in Terminal A. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available in both terminals.
Eating and drinking: Facilities include restaurants, snack bars, fast-food outlets, cafes, an ice cream parlour and cocktail lounges in Terminal A and a pub in Terminal B.
Shopping: There are gift shops and newsagents in both terminals.
Luggage: Trolleys are available throughout both terminals for a small fee. Lost property is handed to the State Police; to inquire about missing items, contact Troop W (tel: (860) 292 7400).
Conference and Business Facilities
The American Audio Visual business centre (tel: (860) 623 5381) is located by the entrance to the Sheraton Hotel (tel: (877 422 5311; www.sheratonbradley.com) between Terminals A and B. Facilities include a photocopier, fax machine, computer workstations, parcel delivery services and overhead/slide projectors. The hotel itself offers numerous meeting rooms and event spaces. There are executive lounges in both terminals, including the US Airways Club Lounge (tel: (860) 627 3933), which is located near boarding gate A6; facilities include telephones, work stations and data ports. The state-of-the-art Connecticut Convention Center (tel: (860) 249 6000; www.ctconventions.com), located just minutes from the airport, offers excellent conference facilities.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
The airport is physically accessible to disabled passengers, with lifts in both terminals and ramps in both Terminal B concourses. Passengers requiring assistance should contact the Skycap station on the upper level; passengers should also inform their airline of any requirements or assistance, prior to travel. All toilets are wheelchair-accessible; a unisex companion-care toilet is also available next to the baggage reclaim area on the lower level. Eight TDD/TTY phones for the speech and hearing impaired are located in the lobby, in two concourses, the baggage reclaim area of Terminal B and the lobby, concourse and baggage reclaim areas of Terminal A. There are spaces for disabled travellers in both the long- and short-term car parks.
Hotels
The Sheraton Bradley (tel: (877) 422 5311; www.sheratonbradley.com) is situated just off the corridor which connects Terminals A and B. There are eight other hotels within a 10-minute drive of the airport, all of which provide courtesy shuttle buses to/from the airport. The nearest of these hotels is the Hampton Inn Hartford/Airport (tel: (860) 683 1118; www.hamptoninn.com) located approximately 2km (1.5 mile) from the airport. Others include the Ramada Inn (tel: (860) 623 9494; www.ramadainn-bradley.com), Days Inn Bradley Airport (tel: (860) 623 9417; www.daysinnbradley.com), Doubletree Hotel (tel: (860) 627 5171; doubletree1.hilton.com), Fairfield Inn (tel: (860) 627 9333; www.marriott.com) and the La Quinta Inn (tel: (860) 623 3336; www.lq.com).
