The airport is located 16km (10 miles) southeast of Budapest.

Terminal 1 reopened in summer 2005 following extensive renovations, and is dedicated to no-frills operators. Plans are in place for a light rail connection with the city.

There is a covered walkway between terminals 2A and 2B, and a bus link between terminals 1 and 2.

The airport is located on route E60 and is clearly signposted from Budapest. From the city centre, the dedicated Ferihegy High Speed Road facilitates access within 20 minutes.

There are short-term car parks situated at both terminals. There is also a long-term car park with security surveillance. Parking information is available (tel: (01) 296 5505).

Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National Alamo and Sixt all have desks located immediately after customs on the Arrivals levels in both Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B.

Rail: Regular trains, operated by Hungarian State Railways (website: www.mav.hu, Hungarian only) run between Terminal 1 and Budapest's western railway station (journey time - under 30 minutes). There is a bus link between the station and Terminal 2.
Road: Bus: There is an Airport Minibus (tel: (01) 296 8555) service to any address in Budapest – the Airport Minibus desk in the Arrivals hall sells tickets and takes reservations. A pre-pay local express bus 200 runs between the underground metro terminus, Köbánya-Kispest, and the airport terminals; passengers may wish to alight at Deák tér where the three underground lines converge. Bus 93 runs to the same destination from Terminal 1 (website: www.bkv.hu)
Taxi: Taxis are available from the airport at the taxi stand (tel: (01) 365 5555; website: www.zonataxi.eu). Maximum fares from the airport are fixed and set by a zoning system.

Help desks are situated on all levels in Terminals 2. The tourist information desks are located immediately after customs in both terminals.

Money and communications: Banking facilities, ATMs and a bureau de change are all available.
Eating and drinking: There are various restaurants and snack bars throughout the airport.
Shopping: There are shops, including duty-free.
Luggage: A lost property service is available (tel: (01) 296 7000). Left-luggage is located in the Arrivals area of Terminal 2B, open daily 24 hours (tel: (01) 296 8802).
Other facilities: There is a chapel in Terminal 2B, and a hotel booking service in Terminal 1. A post office is available, as are childcare facilities and first aid.

Business class passengers in Terminal 2B have access to the Cirrus Lounge (tel: (01) 296 5933), which is located on the transit area on the first floor. Facilities include photocopiers, computers, fax, credit card telephones and free Internet access. In both terminals, there are business centres and VIP lounges with hostess services in various languages, telephone, fax, computers with Internet access, photocopying and an interpreter service. There are two meeting rooms in Terminal 2B; one can accommodate six people, the other between 30-40 people. Free Internet is also available at the airport. Meeting rooms are also available at the nearby Hotel Stacio (tel: (02) 935 3053; website: www.hotelstacio.hu).

There are five disabled toilets within the transit areas and four in other areas. Services are available to help passengers who need assistance boarding or disembarking aircraft and to help passengers with impaired vision. An ambulance service is also available. Passengers should contact their airline in advance for assistance; wheelchairs are available at the airport help desks, on request.

The three-star Hotel Stacio (tel: (02) 935 3053; website: www.hotelstacio.hu) is located at the airport and opened in July 2006. It has 31 rooms, all brand new.
