Airport News

Plans are in place for a third hotel at the airport – anticipated to open in 2009. A previously planned rail link from the city centre will not go ahead, but the airport will be served by the city's new tram line, scheduled to open in 2011. The departure lounge is to be expanded and a new consolidated car hire centre to be built.

Driving Directions

The airport is located just off the A8 from the centre of Edinburgh. The well-signed access road turns north off the A8 between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.

The short-term car parks are directly in front of the terminal building, with surface parking or the multi-storey with 2,000 spaces. The ground floor has a two-hour zone with its own entry and exit for speed and convenience. There is a separate area with a two-hour maximum stay for pick-up and set-down. Payment for short-stay car parking is made at the customer service office on the ground floor, or in advance online or by phone with BAA Advance (tel: 0870 850 2825; website: www.baa.com).
