The airport is situated 12km (8 miles) west of Edinburgh.
Airport News
The airport will be served by the city's new tram line, scheduled to open in 2011. The departure lounge is to be expanded and a new consolidated car hire centre to be built.
Driving Directions
The airport is located just off the A8 from the centre of Edinburgh. The well-signed access road turns north off the A8 between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.
Car Parking
The short-term car parks are directly in front of the terminal building, with surface parking or the multi-storey with 2,000 spaces. The ground floor has a two-hour zone with its own entry and exit for speed and convenience. There is a separate area with a two-hour maximum stay for pick-up and set-down. Payment for short-stay car parking is made at the customer service office on the ground floor, or in advance online or by phone with BAA Advance (tel: 0844 335 1000; www.baa.com). The long-term car parks are close by, served by a free courtesy coach to the terminal. Discounts are available for pre-booked long-term parking, which can also be done online via the airport’s website. Car Hire
Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National all have desks located in the Domestic Arrivals hall. Pre-booked cars from some off-airport companies can be contacted on the courtesy telephone located between Domestic Arrivals and check in.
Public Transport
Bus: Frequent bus services run from the bus station outside Domestic Arrivals to the central Edinburgh bus terminus at Waverley Bridge, also stopping at Edinburgh Haymarket rail station.The express service (bus 100) operates daily between 0420-0000 (tel: (0131) 555 6363; www.flybybus.com). Bus 35 operates from Ocean Terminal via the city centre to Edinburgh Airport. For more information on times and fares, or to book tickets, contact Lothian Buses (tel: (0131) 555 6363; www.lothianbuses.co.uk). Tickets are available at a kiosk outside the terminal.
Shuttle: Edinburgh Shuttle (tel: 0845 500 5000; www.edinburghshuttle.com) operates a fleet of 7-seater mini-buses running regular services between the airport and the city centre zone.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside the Arrivals area and from the 'black cab' rank by the coach station. They can be pre-booked from Edinburgh Airport Taxis (tel: (0131) 663 6526; www.edinburghairporttaxis.com) or Executive Onward Travel (tel: (0131) 333 2255).

Money and communications: The airport has bureaux de change, ATMs and a post box. Paid-for Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the airport.
Eating and drinking: Coffee shops are available throughout the airport and there are two bars and a food village.
Shopping: There is a choice of tax- and duty-free outlets for passengers leaving the EU.

Other facilities: These include baby care facilities and a prayer/quiet room.
Conference and Business Facilities
Bmi, British Airways, Scotways and Servisair all have executive lounges equipped with telephone, fax and Internet facilities. The Hilton Edinburgh Airport Hotel (tel: (0131) 519 4400, www.hilton.co.uk/edinburghairport) has conference facilities for up to 300 delegates, while the Quality Hotel (tel: (0131) 333 4331; www.qualityhoteledinburgh.com) can accommodate functions for up to 80.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Facilities for disabled people include accessible toilets, ramps, lifts and reserved seating. There is a TDD telephone in the International Arrivals area and the airport telephone switchboard is equipped with a Minicom system (tel: (0131) 344 3100). Induction loops are fitted at various points throughout the terminal. Passengers should advise their airline of their special needs in advance. Reserved parking, wheelchair push and provision and help with baggage are available. Assistance can also be pre-booked (tel: (0131) 344 3478).
