The airport is situated 55km (34 miles) south of Kuala Lumpur.
Transfer Between Terminals
The Aerotrain operates between the Main Terminal and the Satellite Building every three to five minutes.
Driving Directions
From Kuala Lumpur, take the North-South Central Link Expressway (ELITE), which is the primary access road for the airport. A second access is via the eastern route, which links the Nilai interchange with the airport. The journey from downtown Kuala Lumpur to the airport takes about one hour.
Car Parking
There are extensive parking facilities at the airport. Blocks A, B, C and D of the covered short-term car parks are situated near the terminal; there is also an uncovered car park, which is connected to the main terminal building and the Pan Pacific Hotel by a courtesy shuttle service. Car Hire
Car hire companies, including Avis, Hertz, National and Thrifty, operate 24-hour desks on the Arrivals concourse in the Main Terminal.
Public Transport
Rail: KLA Ekspres (www.KLIAekspres.com) is a direct express rail service between the airport and KL City Air Terminal (KLCAT) located at Kuala Lumpur’s Sentral Station. KLIA Transit is another high speed commuter train between the airport and KLCAT.
Bus: Express buses to Kuala Lumpur and local buses to Nilai KTM Komuter Station and Subang are available from the bus station located on the ground floor of Block C in the covered car park.
Taxi: Taxis are available on the Arrivals level. Passengers should buy a coupon at taxi counters on the Arrivals level and are advised not to use taxis offered by illegal taxi operators.
Information and Help Desks
There are airport information counters in the Main Terminal (tel: (03) 8776 4386/4389), the Contact Pier (tel: (03) 8776 0259) and the Satellite Building (tel: (03) 8776 2454). Information kiosks, with touch-screen, text, audio, video and graphic technology, are situated throughout the airport. The Visitors Service Centre (tel: (03) 8776 5651/5647) is located on the third floor of the Main Terminal in the baggage reclaim area. It is headed by Tourism Malaysia, is manned 24 hours a day and provides visitors with first-hand information on places to visit in Malaysia, accommodation and transportation, as well as airport and flight information.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: There's a bank, several bureaux de change, ATMs and a post office. Wi-Fi is now also available throughout the airport free of charge. In addition, there are also Internet kiosks in several locations. Phones can be found in both terminals.
Eating and drinking: There are plenty of restaurants, snack bars, delis, fast-food outlets, bars and cafes at the airport.
Shopping: There are also many shops, including several gift shops, bookshops, fashion shops, electronics shops, a perfumery and a jeweller. Duty-free is also available.
Luggage: Luggage lockers and trolleys are available. For lost property, travellers should contact the nearest information counter for further assistance or send an email to publicrelation@malaysiaairports.com.my. A baggage wrapping service also operates in the Departure Hall of the Main Building.
Other facilities: These include nursery/baby-changing facilities, a children’s play area, a 24-hour clinic, pharmacies, various members lounges, a prayer room, designated smoking areas, and a fitness centre with showers, sauna and spa (in the Airside Transit Hotel).
Conference and Business Facilities
The Plaza Premium Lounge (tel: (03) 8787 1766; www.plaza-ppl.com) is equipped with telephone, fax, Internet and videoconferencing facilities, as well as postal and secretarial services. The Airside Transit Hotel (tel: (03) 8787 4848) and the KLIA Pan Pacific Hotel (tel: (03) 8787 3333; www.panpacific.com) also have business centres offering fax, photocopying, Internet, workstation hire and secretarial services.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
These include ramps, lifts, wheelchair-accessible toilets and adapted telephones; passengers should advise their airline of their needs in advance, to arrange personal assistance. Reserved car parking spaces are available on level 2 in the covered short-term car park.

The KLIA Pan Pacific Hotel (tel: (03) 8787 3333; www.panpacific.com) is within a five-minute walk of the airport. The Airside Transit Hotel (tel: (03) 8787 4848) is also available in the Satellite Building, near gate C5. Other hotels near the airport include the Concorde Inn Hotel (tel: (03) 8783 3118; www.concorde.net), Empress Hotel (tel: (03) 8706 7777; www.empresshotelsepang.com), Equatorial Hotel Bangi (tel: (03) 8210 2222; www.equatorial.com) and Palm Garden (tel: (03) 8943 2233; www.palmgarden.com.my). There are telephone hotel reservation desks on the Arrivals concourse.
