The airport is located 5km (3 miles) from Arrecife.
Driving Directions
The airport is clearly signposted. From the capital, Arrecife, take the Autovia Arrecife-Yaiza (LZ-2) and follow signs for the airport.
Car Parking
There are 1,250 car parking spaces available at the airport; the first 30 minutes are free, after which the charge is calculated on an hourly basis.
Car Hire
Autos Reisen, Avis, Betacar, Cabrera Medina, Cicar, Felycar, Hertz and Payless are all represented at the airport.
Public Transport
Bus: Arrecifebus routes 22 and 23 go to/from Arrecife-Playa Honda bus station. The bus station is situated next to Arrivals.
Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and depart from taxi ranks next to Arrivals.
Information and Help Desks
There are information desks (tel: (902) 404 704) in both terminals. Tourist information (tel: (928) 820 704) can be found on the ground floor in Terminal 1.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: There are several ATMs located throughout the airport, and a bureau de change at the Travel 2000 office in Departures, on the second floor. A fax and photocopying service can be found in the lottery outlet. Internet access is also available.
Eating and drinking: Facilities include cafés, bars, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and fast-food outlets, many of which are located in Departures, after security, in Terminal 1. There is also a cafeteria in the Arrivals hall.
Shopping: Shops are mostly located in Departures in Terminal 1, after security. Terminal 2 also has extensive shopping facilities, both before and after security. Duty-free is available.
Luggage: There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport. Lost property facilities are located on the ground floor in both terminals.
Other facilities: There is a pharmacy on the public concourse and first aid on the Arrivals level in Terminal 1. A travel agency is located on the first floor.
Conference and Business Facilities
An Aena VIP Lounge (tel: (928) 846 345) is equipped with business facilities, including telephones and Internet access. Fax and photocopying facilities are available at the lottery outlet, on the main concourse.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Disabled facilities include ramps, a lift, accessible doors and toilets; there are also designated areas outside Departures and Arrivals where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or picked-up. Airlines can provide travellers with wheelchairs; passengers should request this service when booking their ticket. Designated car parking spaces are provided.
Hotels
The Beatriz Playa (tel: (928) 51 21 66; www.beatrizhoteles.com) and Sol Lanzarote (tel: (928) 514 888; www.solmelia.com), at Puerto del Carmen, are the nearest hotels to the airport. The Gran Meliá Salinas (tel: (928) 590 040; www.solmelia.com) and the Occidental Teguise Playa (tel: (928) 590 654; www.occidental-hoteles.com) are 15-20 minutes from the airport on the Costa Teguise.
