The airport is located 17km (10 miles) southwest of Manchester.
Transfer Between Terminals
The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.
Driving Directions
The airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester’s ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.
Car Parking
There are some 14,000 parking spaces available at the airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities (tel: 0871 310 2200) are available at each terminal. The short-stay multi-storey parking lots are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Pre-booking, with discounts offered, is available online. A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the long-term car parks to all terminals. CPS provides chauffeured parking (tel: 08704 111118; www.parkwithcps.com).
Car Hire
Companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. All have desks in each of the terminals.
Public Transport
Rail: Manchester Airport’s rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, which has connections to most major destinations. Bus: The airport’s bus network provides direct services to many local centres, as well as to other towns and cities. For local public transport information, contact the Greater Manchester travel information line (tel: 0871 200 2233; www.gmpte.com).
Coach: A number of National Express services (tel: 0871 781 8181; www.nationalexpress.com) run from The Station to various destinations throughout the UK.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside or near the Arrivals hall of each terminal.
Information and Help Desks
There are information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, Internet booths and a post office are available. Wireless Internet access is available in the terminal buildings at cafés and seating areas.
Eating and drinking: All terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities.
Shopping: Duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available.
Luggage: Left-luggage facilities and lost property offices are available in both terminals' Arrivals areas (tel: (0161) 489 3463).
Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.
Conference and Business Facilities
The Radisson SAS Hotel (tel: (0161) 490 5000; manchester.radissonsas.com), is served by the airport's Skylink system, and accommodates conferences with up to 400 delegates. A range of meeting and training rooms, with capacity for up to 30 people, is available at the Ringway Suite in Terminal 2 (tel: (0161) 489 5790). Fast track security clearance is available for premium fare passengers.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
There are accessible toilets, ramps, lifts and telephones throughout the terminals. All telephones are fitted with induction loops. The desk in Terminal 1 International Arrivals is equipped with a Minicom system, and induction loops are available throughout the terminals. Passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance should contact their airline prior to travel. There are designated spaces in all car parks for disabled travellers (tel: 0871 310 2200), and airport buses are fully accessible.

Bewley’s Hotel Manchester Airport (tel: (0161) 498 0333; www.bewleyshotels.com), the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport (tel: 0871 423 4896; www.ichotelsgroup.com), and the Manchester Airport Hilton (tel: (0161) 435 3000; www.hilton.co.uk/manchesterairport) are all within a short walk of the terminals.
