Location
The airport is located 4km (2.5 miles) west of West Palm Beach and 5.5km (3.5 miles) west of Palm Beach.
Driving Directions
The airport is a two-hour drive from Orlando, one and a half hours from Miami and 45 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. It is situated next to I-95 (there are plans to link the airport directly to I-95) and is accessible from anywhere in Palm Beach County. From the south on I-95, exit at Southern Boulevard (exit 50) and turn left (west) then turn right (north) on Australian Avenue and follow the signs to the airport entrance on the left. From the north on I-95, exit at Belvedere Road (exit 51); drive west on Belvedere Road to Australian Avenue and turn left, proceeding to the airport entrance on the right.
Car Parking
There are four parking options: a premium car park located outside the baggage reclaim area, a short-term car park (terminal levels 4-7), long-term surface and garage parking, and a Park & Ride remote car park connected to baggage check-in by a shuttle service. There is also a 'cellphone' car park, located off Florida Mango and Belvedere roads, designed for people picking up passengers at the airport, and which is free of charge. Car Hire
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National are all represented, with desks in the Arrivals area (level 1).
Public Transport
Automated transportation reservation centres, providing direct telephone lines to transportation companies, are located in the centre of the baggage reclaim area on level 1.
Rail: TriRail provides transportation between West Palm Beach and Miami, with stops on route (www.tri-rail.com); TriRail feeder bus services can be found outside level 1 of the terminal.
Bus: PalmTran, Palm Beach County’s public bus transport, offers regular services throughout Palm Beach County; the stop is located on the kerb of level 1 and route maps can be found inside the terminal also on level 1 (tel: (561) 841 4200; www.co.palm-beach.fl.us/palmtran).
Taxi: Taxis are available from the transportation desks at each end of the terminal building on level 1.
Shuttle: Supershuttle (tel: (561) 233 0600; www.supershuttle.com) offers shared-ride door to door shuttle transportation to and from the airport.
Information and Help Desks
Travelers Aid is located in the centre of the baggage reclaim area on level 1 and there is also a Traveler Service Center on level 2 offering a range of travel-related services. Airport ambassadors are available throughout the terminal to assist travellers and are easily spotted for their teal jackets. Palm Beach County Visitor Information Centre (tel: (561) 233 3000) can also provide advice and information.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Facilities include ATMs, bureaux de change, a stamp machine and post box, which are located in the Traveler Service Center on level 2.
Eating and drinking: Restaurants, bars and snack bars are situated on level 2. A deli is situated on concourse A; there is a fast-food outlet, ice-cream and chocolate shop, a snack bar and coffee shop on concourse B; a grill and bar and coffee shop are situated on concourse C.
Shopping: Shops are also situated on level 2 and include gift shops, newsagents, a toy store and a PGA golf shop. There is a newsagent, gift shop and book store on concourse B and a newsagent/gift shop on concourse C.
Luggage: The baggage claim is located on level 1. Trolleys are available for hire in the baggage claim area and a Skycap porter service is also available. A Lost and Found service (tel: (561) 687 5906) is available.
Other facilities: A shoeshine and travel insurance facilities are available in the Traveler Service Center.
Conference and Business Facilities
Conference rooms and full business facilities, including telephones, fax and data ports, can be arranged through the Traveler Services Centre on level 2. The US Airways Presidents Club and Delta Crown Room airline club lounges are situated on level 2.The Holiday Inn Airport Hotel & Conference Centre (tel: (561) 659 3880; www.holidayinn.com) offers seven meeting rooms, accommodating up to 200 delegates and audiovisual equipment for hire. The Hilton Palm Beach Airport (tel: (561) 684 9400; www1.hilton.com) and the Crowne Plaza West Palm Beach (tel: (561) 688 8608; www.ichotelsgroup.com) also offer meetings and events facilities.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Airlines can provide disabled passengers with wheelchairs; passengers should request this service in advance. TDD telephones are available at the airport on level 3 (east) and level 1 (west). Disabled travellers requiring further information at the airport should use the white courtesy telephones located throughout the terminal and parking garages; these telephones connect the caller to the airport communications centre, where a paging service within the terminal building is available. Ground transportation for disabled travellers is available (tel: (561) 930 8747) and should be arranged in advance.
