The airport is situated 14km (9 miles) northeast of Portland.

Major runway improvements began at PDX in May 2009, due for completion late in 2011.
Driving Directions
The terminal is served directly by Airport Way, which leads off I-205. Comprehensive driving directions can be found on the airport's website.
Car Parking
There is a parking garage with direct access to the terminal. Economy and long-term car parks are also available, with free shuttle buses running to/from the terminal. Motorcycles are not permitted in any of the car parks, however, parking for motorcycles is free on the Arrivals level, under the upper roadway. Valet parking is available just outside the terminal, as is a 'cellphone' car park for meeters and greeters. For more information on parking call (503) 460 4848.
Car Hire
Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Hertz are all located in the Car Rental Center, on the first floor of the airport’s parking garage. Alamo/National and E-Z Rental have kiosks located just outside the centre.
Public Transport
Rail: TriMet MAX light rail services (tel: (503) 238 7433; www.trimet.org) run from the airport to downtown Portland (journey time approx. 40 mins) and Beaverton on the Red Line. Tickets are available from machines in the Arrivals lobby and on the station platform, which is located on Airport Way, close to the terminal building.
Bus: Many shuttles and coaches operate from the airport to various areas around Portland.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available, departing from the Ground Transportation Center on the west side of the parking garage, in front of Arrivals. The journey to downtown Portland usually takes between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
Information and Help Desks
Two staffed information desks operate in baggage reclaim, with other information points located around the terminal. Uniformed volunteers provide passenger assistance at peak periods. Computerised kiosks and brochures provide information in Chinese, English, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Foreign-language assistance is available through AT&T at the information desks. Airport Facilities
Money and communications: ATMs, postal services and a bureau de change and free Wi-Fi Internet access is also available throughout much of the airport.
Eating and drinking: A good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars are available throughout the airport.
Shopping: There are numerous shops at the airport but duty-free is only available once on board the aircraft.
Luggage: A lost property service is available in Arrivals (tel: (503) 460 4272).
Other facilities: These include a barber, massage, shoeshine, three members lounges and a children’s play area.
Conference and Business Facilities
The PDX Conference Centre (tel: (503) 460 4050) offers meeting rooms and business facilities and can accommodate up to 65 people. Audiovisual equipment, photocopying, fax facilities, workstations with computers, notary service, private telephone rooms, typewriters and a secretarial service are available. Communication services, including fax, PC workstations and postal facilities, are also available at service centres on Concourses C and D. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available in most parts of the terminal building.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
The airport is well equipped for disabled travellers. Facilities include adapted toilets, TTY telephones, visual paging and a guide dog area. Reserved car parking spaces are available in the parking garage, next to the elevators, as well as near the bus shelters in the economy and long-term car parks. The airport shuttles are wheelchair-accessible. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
