Location
The airport is situated 8km (5 miles) northwest of Rotterdam and 25km (16 miles) southeast of The Hague.
Driving Directions
From Amsterdam and The Hague, follow the A4 towards Rotterdam. At the Prins Claudsplein junction, take the A13 towards Rotterdam and follow signs for the airport. From Utrecht, take the A12 towards Rotterdam. At Gouda, take the A20 towards the Hook of Holland and then take the A13 towards The Hague.
Car Parking
The airport has three main car parks: P1 (long-term) can be found to the left of the terminal building, P2 (short-term) is in front of the terminal and P3 (long-term) is located to the right of the terminal building. All car parks are within walking distance of the terminal.
Car Hire
Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt all have desks at the airport, located in the Arrivals area of the transit hall. Budget has offices in Rotterdam, but it is possible to pick up or return a car at the airport by prior arrangement. Contact them before travelling.
Public Transport
Bus: The RET Airport Shuttle 33 runs frequently between the airport and Rotterdam Central Station (journey time - 20 minutes). The airport bus station is located in front of the terminal building. The Nightnet RET bus 12 takes the same route early in the morning.
Taxi: The taxi rank is located in front of Arrivals.
Information and Help Desks
The information desk (tel: (010) 446 3444) is located in the transit hall. Services include a fax service within the Netherlands, flight and public transport information, tourist information and hotel reservations.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Telephones, ATMs, a currency exchange desk and Wi-Fi Internet access are all available.
Eating and drinking: The airport has a self-service buffet/bar and a panoramic restaurant/bar.
Shopping: The Rotterdam Airport Shop, located in the Departures lounge, offers an extensive selection of products and duty-free.
Luggage: There are left-luggage lockers in the transit hall, and trolleys are available. For lost and found, contact the Havendienst office on the first floor of the terminal building (tel: (010) 446 3450).
Other facilities: There is a fully-equipped baby care room, an airport lounge and travel agencies.
Conference and Business Facilities
The airport has a conference room (tel: (010) 446 3444) for a maximum of 30 people which is open 24 hours a day. The Golden Tulip Rotterdam Airport Hotel (tel: (010) 462 5566; www.goldentuliprotterdamairport.nl) also provides 11 rooms for meetings and conferences, accommodating up to 1,000 delegates. The KLM Jet Center (FBO) (tel: (010) 298 4949; www.jetcenter.nl) provides VIP facilities for those travelling with private or hired aircraft.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
The majority of airport facilities are easily accessible. The restaurant and promenade on the mezzanine are accessible by lift. The airport has automatic doors, lowered kerbs, adapted toilets and lifts. Wheelchairs are available on request for use at the airport. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and any special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
Hotels
The Golden Tulip Rotterdam Airport Hotel (tel: (010) 462 5566; www.goldentuliprotterdamairport.nl) is within walking distance of the terminal building, although there is a free shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. Nearby hotels include the Hilton Rotterdam (tel: (010) 710 8000; www.hilton.com) and the Ibis Rotterdam Vlaardingen (tel: (010) 460 2050; www.ibishotel.com).
