Location
The airport is located in Ronkonkoma in Suffolk County on Long Island within the New York metro area, around 80km (50 miles) northeast of Manhattan.
Driving Directions
Coming from the west on the Long Island Expressway 495 take exit 57 south. At the second light on the service road is Veterans Memorial 454. Turn right and travel 8km (5 miles) to Johnson Avenue, then turn left into the airport entrance. Coming from the east on Sunrise Highway take exit 50A north on Johnson Avenue and follow this to the airport.

Public Transport
Rail: Ronkonkoma train station is located 2.5km (1.5 miles) from the airport terminal. The Long Island Railroad (tel: (516) 822 5477; www.mta.nyc.ny.us) offers frequent services between Penn Station in Manhattan (33rd Street and Seventh Avenue) and the Ronkonkoma train station, which is very close to the airport (journey time - 1 hour 25 minutes). From Ronkonkoma train station there is a taxi shuttle service to the airport terminal. The shuttle van departs the train station daily at 0530, and then departs every half hour from the airport from 0600 until 2230.
Bus: Suffolk County Bus Transit (tel: (631) 853 5200; www.sct-bus.org) provides local bus services.
Coach: Hampton Jitney (tel: (631) 283 4600; www.hamptonjitney.com) offers coach transport direct to Eastern Long Island or Manhattan. A short taxi ride is required between the Hampton Jitney stop and the airport terminal.
Taxi: Colonial Transportation (tel: (631) 589 3500) and Lindy's Airport Car Service (tel: (631) 851 0000) provide taxi service from the airport.
Water: Ferries across Long Island Sound are provided by Cross Sound Ferry (tel: (631) 323 2525; www.longislandferry.com) and Port Jefferson - Bridgeport Ferry (tel: (631) 473 0286; www.bpjferry.com).
