Airport News

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has submitted a planning application to construct a 150 bedroom three star hotel and an 869 space multistorey car park adjacent to the terminal building. The hope is that the £22.5m development could be completed in 2008, the year when Liverpool is European Capital of Culture.

Driving Directions

From north and northeast, take the M6 southbound to junction 21A with M62. Follow M62 West to junction 6 onto the A5300 to the A561 and follow signs to the airport, which is situated off Speke Hall Avenue. Coming from the south or east, head north on the M6 to junction 20 with M56. Follow M56 to junction 12 onto the A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. Passengers travelling from Wirral may find it more convenient at peak times to use the M53 and then the M56 (as instructions from the south/east) rather than a route through the city centre of Liverpool via the Mersey Tunnels. Passengers travelling from North Wales should join the A55 to connect with the M56 eastbound, and then follow instructions as from the east.

Car Parking

There are two long-term and one short-term parking lot at the airport, all of them conveniently located next to the terminal building. There is a specially designated area of disabled parking bays immediately adjacent to the main terminal building.
