The airport is situated near the coast in the southeast of Mauritius, around 6km (4 miles) from Mahebourg. The capital, Port Louis, is located around 40km (25 miles) northeast of the airport.

Driving Directions
Coming from Mahebourg, take the M2 and follow signs for the airport after about 6km (4 miles). Arriving from Port Louis, follow the M2 towards the southeast and follow signs for the airport after about 40km (25 miles).
Car Parking
The airport has outdoor parking facilities. There are nearly 600 parking spaces available. Fees vary according to the type of vehicle and are paid per 24-hour period.
Car Hire
Car hire companies represented at the airport include ABC, ADA, Avis, Budget, Europcar, First and Sixt. Car rental counters are situated in the Tour Operators' Hall in the terminal building.
Public Transport
Bus: Bus services between the airport and Port Louis run quite frequently (every 30-60 minutes) throughout the day.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside the terminal building at all times. Around 60 taxis serve the airport.

An information desk is located centrally in the terminal building's Tour Operators' Hall.

Money and communications: There are several ATMs outside the arrival hall, and a currency exchange service is available in the check-in hall in the departures area. There are bank offices in both the arrivals and departures areas. A post office is located outside the arrivals hall.
Eating and drinking: There are several places to eat and drink at the airport. A restaurant is located in the arrivals area. A restaurant in the departures area offers both fast-food and a la carte menus. Other restaurants are available after security for departing passengers.
Shopping: Two duty-free shops are available at the airport. One is located in the departure lounge, and the other is located in the arrival lounge. They both offer a wide range of spirits, perfumes, tobacco, chocolate and more. Made in Mauritius sells local products like clothes and accessories, while A Taste of Paradise offers local spices and crafts. In addition, there are newsagents available selling books, magazines, cigarettes and basic pharmaceutical products.
Luggage: Enquiries about lost property or luggage should be made at the information desk, to the airline concerned or to the airport duty officer (tel: 603 6165).
Other facilities: In case of medical emergencies the airport duty officer should be contacted (tel: 603 6165) for assistance. A doctor is on call at the airport.
