Anguilla Events

Commemorating Anguilla’s secession from St Kitts and Nevis, the day starts with marching bands in The Valley (8am), but the centrepiece is the Round the Island yacht race, which starts (about 9am) and eventually finishes (late afternoon) in Sandy Ground, where there are bands and barbecues on the beach.

Anguilla's annual carnival and summer festival of fun, ten days of carnival activities around the island, starting with Jouvert, fireworks, Miss Anguilla and Carnival Queen shows, calypso competitions and then costumed carnival street parades, followed by beach parties and general jump-ups. Also boat races (Anguilla's national sport).

Set in the fishing village of Island Harbour over Easter, the Festival del Mar sees all sorts of seaborne activity, including sailing boat and model boat races, fishing competitions, swimming races and of course live music under the stars. On Sunday there are seafood competitions and kite-flying, a traditional Easter activity.
