Ankara history
Atop the eastern edge of the great Anatolian Plateau, Ankara is a historical hotchpotch overlooking forests and meadows and dating back to the Bronze Age. The city was ruled by Galatians, Romans, Byzantines and Seljuks before falling under Ottoman control.
