The Antwerp tourist office's cycling tour pedals along the quays of the River Scheldt to the old port, the 'Eilandje' (Little Island), the narrow medieval streets of the Sint-Andries quarter and on to the now-very-fashionable 19th-century Zuid district.

Antwerp tours and excursions
Antwerp tours
Pleasure cruises along the Scheldt start from the Steenplein. Flandria includes port tours; Rivertours Antwerpen is another option.
The Antwerp Diamond Bus is a hop-on, hop-off service calling at or near most Antwerp attractions. It runs daily from early April to early November and Saturday and Sunday only from November to March.
The Antwerp tourist office organises a walking tour of the city taking in the historical centre of Antwerp. Tour guide Carolien Krijnen offers Fashionwalk-, Rubenswalk- and Golden Age-themed tours, in addition to general and cycling tours.
Excursions from Antwerp
Antwerp is often regarded as an excursion itself, from Brussels, 53km (33 miles) south, and 40 minutes by train, or Ghent, 58 km (36 miles) southwest, and 50 minutes by train, though you can turn the tables, as both towns are easily accessible by train with departures every 30 minutes or so. Sightseeing packages are available from Antwerp; ask at the tourist office for details.
Ghent Tourist OfficeBelfry (Raadskelder), Botermarkt 17A, Gent.
Lier, 16km (10 miles) southeast, is a pretty little town with canalside scenes which draws comparisons with Bruges. Trains depart hourly from Centraal station.
For more information, visit Lier Tourist Office, Grote Markt 57.
