Flying to Aruba
The national airline is Aruba Airlines (www.arubaairlines.aw).
Flight times:
From Amsterdam to Oranjestad is 10 hours and from New York is 4 hours 30 minutes.
Departure tax:
US$30. Transit passengers in Aruba for less than 24 hours are exempt. Departure tax is normally included in the ticket price.
Getting to Aruba by boat
Oranjestad. Boats dock in the heart of town and it is only a five-minute walk to the centre. However, there are also taxis available on the dock itself, plus car hire companies at the port.
Many cruise ships call in on their Caribbean itineraries.
