Founded in 1983 as part of the National Museum of Science and Industry, the decision to locate the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television outside the capital was based on Bradford’s contribution to the development of UK cinema and the city’s accessible location. This is an interactive museum and visitors have the opportunity to discover the media world through a variety of hands-on experiences, including reading the news to camera, discovering the workings of a television camera and creating their own animations. The museum reflects ever changing developments within the industry, and contains a gallery devoted to digital media, as well as Europe’s first IMAX cinema showing 3-D films and two cinemas showing new releases.
Air: Leeds/Bradford International Airport or Manchester Airport. Rail: Train: Bradford Forster Square Station or Bradford Interchange Station. Road: Bus: Public services.
