Closest Hotels to Niagara Falls, USA:
Niagara Falls is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North America, made up of two separate parts, Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side and American Falls on the US side. Although not the highest waterfall in the world (that record goes to the Angel Falls in Venezuela), they move a staggering volume of 168,000 cubic metres (219,600 cubic yards) of water per minute over a drop of 51m (167ft), making them one of the natural wonders of the world. In the past, people have attempted numerous daring stunts here, including dropping over the edge in a barrel. The most famous daredevil was the Frenchman Jean Francois Gravelot (known as The Great Blondin) who crossed the Niagara Falls on a tightrope in 1859 and lived to tell the tale. The town surrounding Niagara Falls, a celebrated North American honeymoon destination, offers a wealth of visitor activities including a casino, as well as land and boat tours of the falls.
