A purpose-built island theme park, Sentosa (which means ‘peace and tranquility’ in Malay) offers history, golf and gastronomy, as well as a host of themed attractions, including VolcanoLand and Underwater World, which is one of Asia’s largest tropical fish aquariums. Owned and managed by Sentosa Development Corporation, Sentosa is Singapore’s largest offshore island and home to beautiful beaches and gardens. The island’s highlights include the Butterfly Park, which houses more than 2500 butterflies, Fort Siloso preserved fortification, which was built in the 1880s, and the Images of Singapore Museum, which exhibits artefacts from the history of Singapore.
