Luxury (over NZ$150)

Cheap (up to NZ$100)
The prices quoted below are the starting prices for double rooms. Prices do not include GST (Goods and Services Tax), currently standing at 12.5%, and breakfast, unless otherwise stated.
Grand Chancellor Auckland Airport
Grand Chancellor Auckland Airport is located a short drive from Auckland International Airport and offers a shuttle service to/from the airport (at a charge). Hotel facilities include swimming pool, gym, sauna, an oyster bar and café.
Jet Park Hotel
Jet Park Hotel is located close to Auckland International Airport and it provides a free shuttle service to/from the airport. Facilities include a swimming pool, gift shop and a fitness centre.
Henry's
Overlooking Auckland Harbour, this stylishly renovated wooden villa offers boutique accommodation. Downstairs are two rooms both with ensuite, lounge area, wireless internet, Egyptian cotton sheets on the bed, and private access. Upstairs is a spacious, luxury apartment with spa and private deck. There’s also a solar heated pool on-site. This makes a great place to splash out - everything about this place screams attention to detail. Great shops and West Lynn bars and restaurants are a short walk away.
Hyatt Regency Auckland
This unmistakable, tall, broad and handsome building in central Auckland offers 274 rooms, which are all air-conditioned and have wireless internet access, voice mail and in-room safes. In addition, this Auckland hotel boasts two restaurants, a fitness centre and jogging track, with panoramic views of the harbour and outlying city.
Peace & Plenty Inn
Without exaggeration, this is one of the finest B&Bs in the entire country, with sumptuous, restored kauri-timber floors that feel like silk beneath bare feet, leading to exquisite en-suite rooms filled with fresh flowers, antique furniture and sherry or port decanters. There is a delightful verandah for breakfast (weather permitting) and the meal itself is an event of major proportions and large, healthy and hearty portions. It is served by an ultra-friendly couple, who offer sailing trips around the bay on their boat.
Scenic Hotel Auckland
Refurbished in the original 1950s art deco style, but injected with contemporary comforts, this centrally located, classy Auckland hotel is just a five-minute walk from the main shopping streets and waterfront. Apartment-style rooms are air-conditioned and spacious with speedy internet access, as well as kitchens.
The Heritage
Auckland's most interesting international-class luxury hotel was originally the city's most historic and spectacular department store, Farmers. The landmark building has an iconic reputation and is a wonderful example of Southern Hemisphere art deco styling. The Heritage has two separate accommodation wings, made up of 467 rooms and suites, a tennis court and two swimming pools (one roof-top). There’s also a health club, a glass atrium and, best of all, a grand tea room with fantastic views of the harbour. Quite simply, this Auckland hotel is style and luxury personified.
The Westin Auckland Lighter Quay
With a waterfront address and boasting panoramic city and marina views, The Westin has a simple, understated and exquisite design. Its 172-rooms feature opulent furnishings and a decadent touch. One of the most outstanding luxury Auckland hotels dripping with accolades and awards, water is a design feature of this stylish property - inside and out. Rounding out the happy picture is the contemporary Maori artwork featured throughout the hotel.
City Lodge
It won’t win any design awards, but City Lodge offers central accommodation that is secure, comfortable and great value. Small, simple rooms are kept tidy and clean, and come with tiny ensuite, fridge, TV and biggish windows (rooms for disabled travellers available). There’s also wireless internet, and a shared kitchen and loungeroom. A great option in Auckland’s overcrowded budget market.
Kiwi International Hotel
This modest albeit perfectly adequate Auckland hotel is located in the middle of the city, only a 25-minute drive from the airport. The Kiwi International Hotel contains a bar and restaurant, laundry, 24-hour reception, off-street parking and 120 comfortable and functional rooms with their own en-suite facilities. Although the décor is rather lacking in character and the interior gives the impression of an ageing warren, there is sufficient compensation in the number and quality of the facilities on offer, the variety of accommodation available and the surprisingly low daily or long-term rates.
Quality Hotel Barrycourt
This hotel is situated in 1.2 hectares (3 acres) of glorious greenery and trees, providing the ideal setting in which to work and play. Located in Parnell, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown Auckland and the domain. There are 105 well-equipped hotel rooms and serviced apartments, as well as free parking, wireless internet and splendid views of the Waitemata Harbour and the city.
