A new domestic terminal was opened at Cairns International Airport in September 2010 as part of a A$200 million improvement programme.
Information:
Both the domestic and international terminals feature accommodation boards with direct dial phones. There is not currently a manned tourist information desk at Cairns International Airport. General information can be found by contacting the airport information line (tel: (07) 4080 6703).

The terminals are located 250m (820ft) apart, and are connected by a covered walkway.
Driving directions:
From Central Cairns, head north on Sheridan Street for approximately 5km (3 miles), then turn right onto Airport Avenue, which leads to the airport.
Public Transport
Public transport road:
Shuttle: Sun Palm Express (tel: (07) 4087 2900; www.sunpalmtransport.com) operates an airport shuttle bus service to hotels and the city centre, as well as to the Northern Beaches, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation. These buses are available at the front of the arrivals area of both terminals. Most of the hotels in the region operate their own courtesy shuttle bus service to and from Cairns International Airport.
Taxi: Free taxi telephones are located in the arrival halls and the taxi ranks are immediately outside the arrivals area of both terminals.
Terminal facilities
Money:
ATMs are located in the arrivals area of the international terminal and the departures area of the domestic terminal. Currency exchange booths are located within the baggage reclaim area and in the arrivals hall as well as in the departure lounge of the international terminal.
Communication:
Post boxes are available in both terminals. Internet services can be found at both terminals, within the departure lounge in the domestic terminal and both inside and outside the departure lounge in the international terminal.
Food:
Several restaurants, cafés and bars can be found in both terminals.
Shopping:
The departure areas of both terminals have shops offering a wide range of items from jewellery, souvenirs, and local products to fashion clothing, designer surf wear, sunglasses and equipment for trips to the outback. There is a duty-free shop in the domestic terminal and there are newsagents in both terminals.
Luggage:
A baggage storage service is available at both terminals, operated by Smart Carte Australia (tel: 0407 359 678). Porterage assistance is available from TLC Airport Luggage Services (tel: 0417 635 195).
Other:
Showers, first aid rooms and baby changing facilities are located in both terminals.
Airport facilities
Conference and business:
There are no conference or business facilities at Cairns International Airport. Internet access is available in both the domestic and the international terminals.
Disabled facilities:
Facilities for people with physical disabilities include lifts, toilets and hearing loops. There are disabled parking spaces in each car park, as well as dedictated pick-up and drop-off areas at the entrances to both terminals.
Car parking:
Both short- and long-term parking areas are located adjacent to the passenger terminals. The first ten minutes in each car park is free of charge to enable the pick-up and drop-off of passengers. Parking bays for the disabled are located in front of the departures and the arrivals doors.
Car rental:
The following car hire companies are available at Cairns International Airport: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Red Spot and Thrifty. Desks for these operators are located in the arrivals area of both the domestic and international terminals.
