There is a wide choice of hotels in Bogotá, appealing to all tastes and budgets. For cheap Bogotá hotels, avoid travelling to the city between December and February during the peak summer season.

Moderate (Col$100,000 to Col$300,000)
Cheap (up to Col$100,000)

Casa Medina
Atmospheric and full of character, this Bogotá hotel, located in a restored historic building, offers modern facilities with old world atmosphere.

Grand House Hotel
This boutique hotel in Bogotá is modern, chic and well located in the city’s north. It is walking distance to Zona Rosa, a buzzing and well-policed area with modern restaurants, bars and cafes. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms especially so.

Hotel de la Opera
Another Bogotá hotel in a restored historic building; probably the best in La Candelaria, situated in two buildings next the Teatro Colon. It has class, charm and character and its rooftop restaurant offers great views over the old part of town (where the historic Santa Fe was built by first Spanish settlers). The hotel is fairly small, with four suites and 25 rooms only, so booking ahead is essential.

Hotel Saint Simon
Located in the modern, lively area of Zona Rosa and close to its entertainment facilities, this is a very decent choice. The hotel also has free internet access and breakfast is included in the price.

Platypus Hotel
Located in the historic La Candelaria district near the centre of Bogotá, this well-known backpackers hotel is owned by a friendly multilingual local and is walking distance from many museums. It has free coffee, a comfy lounge, and simple rooms – both shared and private, with or without en suite.
