Things to do in Budapest
Budapest is a great city for biking, with lots of open green spaces, wide boulevards and plenty of interesting backstreets. Bike hire is widely available and bike lane provision is improving slowly, although some drivers and traffic clogged streets can be a problem. Further-flung attractions such as the Buda Hills and Margaret Island are both perfect destinations for a leisurely ride.
Take the waters in Budapest, one of the world’s most famous spa towns – and you are, after all, totally spoiled for choice with so many excellent and historic thermal baths to choose from. Of course, the world-famous Hotel Gellért is the most talked about, but other recommended options are the Lukacs Baths, with its indoor and outdoor pools, and the 16th century Rudas Bath, which is lit through a magnificent dome.
