Hotels in Caracas

Caracas has few characterful boutique hotels or small guest houses, but there are plenty of decent hotels in Caracas to bed down in comfort. There are also plenty of cheap hotels in Caracas too to cater to those on a budget.

The Caracas hotels below have been grouped into three different pricing categories:
Luxury (over BsF 250)
Moderate (BsF 150 to BsF 250)
Cheap (up to BsF 150)
Prices are for a double room per night, including tax and breakfast.

Caracas Palace Hotel

The former Four Seasons hotel does not disappoint and is widely considered one of the best hotels in Caracas located in the exclusive and safe neighbourhood of Altamira. There's a fantastic, curvaceous pool, two excellent restaurants and a spa as well as 115 sumptuous and spacious rooms.

Address: Avenida Luis Roche con Avenida Francisco de Miranda, Caracas, Venezuela
Telephone: (0212) 771 1000

Hotel Gran Melía Caracas

This princely choice is one of the largest and most sumptuous hotels in Caracas, which manages to feel far removed from the surrounding noise and heat despite its central location. It boasts all the trimmings including Jacuzzis in the rooms, gym, swimming pool and several first-class restaurants.

Address: Avenida Casanova, Caracas, Venezuela
Telephone: (0212) 762 8111

Hotel La Floresta

This cheerily appointed hotel is very good value for money, with pleasant, spacious rooms (ones at the front boast great balconies), with in-room wireless on each floor and a Chinese restaurant downstairs. Next door to the Montserrat, it's in a safe and wealthy neighbourhood.

Address: Avenida Ávila, Caracas, Venezuela
Telephone: (0212) 263 1955

Hotel Paseo Las Mercedes

This squeaky clean hotel is ideal if you have a stopover in Caracus. It has uniformly comfortable rooms and pleasant English-speaking staff. It is located in a shopping centre but has the pick of dozens of excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs on its doorstep.

Address: Centro Comercial Paseo Las Mercedes, Caracas, Venezuela
Telephone: (0212) 993 1244

Hotel Residencia Montserrat

Helpfully located by the Metro station in a significantly safer area than downtown, this ageing Caracas hotel has faded but spacious rooms with good views over the lively plaza in front or a beautiful garden behind. Bring earplugs for traffic noise.

Address: Avenida Ávila, Altamira, Venezuela
Telephone: (0212) 263 3533

Plaza Catedral Hotel

This simple, cheap hotel is smack bang in the heart of the historic district, overlooking Plaza Bolívar. The rooms are frill-free and air conditioning can be all but useless, but it remains a good option if you're looking for cheap hotels in Caracas. Be back before 2100 as the area is dangerous at night.
