Rachamankha
Situated in the grounds of the boutique hotel of the same name, this is one of Chiang Mai's most elegant restaurants. Diners enjoy fabulous fusion food that draws in influences from Thailand, Myanmar and China, served at linen-covered tables surrounded by artworks and antiques.

A chic and stylish Chiang Mai restaurant in a striking 20th-century house that once belonged to an exiled Burmese prince. Khun Churn
With its Buddhist traditions, Chiang Mai is an excellent place to find vegetarian food, and this inviting garden restaurant on a quiet soi off Thanon Nimmanhemin offers a full range of northern Thai dishes prepared with purely vegetarian ingredients. Locals swear by the inexpensive lunchtime buffet.
Heuan Soontaree
This riverside restaurant is owned by a famous northern Thai folk singer, who frequently performs at weekends. Appropriately, the menu includes plenty of northern Thai specialities. It's a romantic spot and diners are an even mix of locals and Westerners.
