A relic from the Soviet era, the Neva has a grand entrance with a sweeping central staircase, but the rooms beyond are fairly dated. However, the location is handy for the Russian Museum and the Summer Garden and many guests appreciate the peaceful setting. Standard, superior rooms and suites all have phones and televisions and there's a restaurant and bar, plus a traditional banya (Russia bathhouse) where you can let off some steam. For budget-minded travellers, there are cheaper rooms with shared bathrooms.
