St Petersburg
Accommodation in St Petersburg has improved in recent years and the city now offers hotels, guest houses and hostels catering to all budgets. However, as elsewhere in Russia, rates are high compared to neighbouring countries. Most of the mid-range and top end hotels are located on or around Nevsky prospekt, whereas guest houses and hostels tend to be located outside the city centre. For long stays, consider renting an apartment - see the websites of Hofa (website: www.hofa.ru) and the Apartment Reservation Network (website: www.apartmentres.com) for more information. If you are staying in St Petersburg for more than three days, your hotel will register your Russian visa when you check in.
The hotels below have been listed alphabetically within four different pricing categories:
$$$$ (over US$300)
$$$ (US$200 to US$300)
$$ (US$100 to US$200)
$ (under US$100)
These prices are per double room per night, and include all taxes. Breakfast is extra.
