In true German tradition, Stuttgart is amply supplied with bars, restaurants and nightspots to cater for those in search of fun. The Theodor-Heuss-Strasse district is a major focal point of the city's nightlife, as is the area surrounding the Hans-im-Glück-Brunnen (Lucky Hans Fountain). The Bohnenviertel (Bean Quarter, see Sightseeing) also has a concentration of bars, wine bars, cafes and restaurants.

Many establishments are open throughout the night, especially at weekends. More traditional bars are to be found in the Steinstrasse area close to the marketplace. With the exception of the small pubs, most bars double up as restaurants. There is also a casino for those who fancy a flutter on the gaming tables.

Bars: Sophie's Brauhaus, Sophienstrasse, O'Reilly's Irish Pub, Reuchlinstrasse, Osho's Café and Cocktail Bar, Eberhardstrasse, L'Oasis, Theodor-Heuss-Strasse, and Die Bar, Augustenstrasse, are all good options.

Clubs: Stuttgart offers a good selection of nightspots. Try Perkins Park in Stresemannstrasse (website: www.perkins-park.de), which offers different music styles for a different crowd every night. Move Club in Bolzstrasse (website: www.move-dancing.de) is a more traditional discotheque offering soul, funk and disco tracks, while Club Rouge in Frauenhoferstrasse (website: www.club-rouge.de) stages live acts as well as top German DJs introducing a variety of dance music.

Live Music: Laboratorium in Wagenburgstrasse (website: www.laboratorium-stuttgart.de) primarily features blues and world music, while at Zwölfzehn, Paulinenstrasse (website: www.zwoelfzehn.de), a variety of internationally known as well as local rock bands regularly appear.
