The historical city centre of Verona is quite compact, and several of the city's main sights are within easy walking distance from the centre, so many visitors to Verona decide to explore Verona mainly by foot. Still, the public transport system is very good. There are several taxi ranks throughout the city including at the train station and at Piazza Bra. Many taxi drivers do not respond to attempts at hailing their taxi on the street. To pre-book a taxi try Taxi & Autoblu (tel: (045) 858 1403) or Unione Radiotaxi (tel: (045) 800 4528).
