The local tourist office lists a number of different walking itineraries on their website (website: www.nicetourism.com) which removes the need for an organised guided tour. Those still wanting to take a walking tour can book a three-hour guided trip (which focuses mainly on the old town) in French or English at the tourist office at 5 Promenade des Anglais (tel: (08) 9270 7407).

The Grand Tour (tel: (04) 9229 1700) is an open top bus tour that meanders around the city with commentary in five languages dispensed through individual headsets. There is also the Petit Train (tel: (06) 1639 5351; website: www.petittrainnice.com), a small tourist train that explores the centre in summer.
