Naples's public transport system may seem confusing at first sight, but it actually works quite well. The network includes metro, tram, bus, suburban trains and funicular. The city has a unified ticketing system, and so transfers are free. The Giranapoli pass is valid for 90 minutes on all public transport within the city. It is also possible to buy a pass for a whole day.

Taxi drivers in Naples have a reputation for tricking tourists into paying them a lot of money. Some of them have no doubt done their bit to earn such a reputation, but many taxi drivers are honest.
