Düsseldorf Nightlife

A night out in the Altstadt means a drink or two (at least!) in one of the city's many brauereigaststätten, venerable beer halls/pubs, often with many rooms, that brew their own beer on the premises and serve hearty portions of traditional German food. The largest and most famous of these is Uerige at Berger Strasse 1. Opposite is the smallest bar in town, Et Kabüffke Killepitsctube at Flinger Strasse 1, famed for Düsseldorf's very own liqueur, killepitsch. Another recommended beer hall is In Goldenen Ring at Burgplatz 21.

Good live music venues are Dr Jazz at Flinger Strasse 11, a cosy little subterranean jazz bar with live music nightly, and Dä Spiegel at Bolker Strasse 22 for rock bands.

The Media Hafen docks are has some of the trendiest restaurants and nightspots in town. At Club MK2, Kaistrasse 4, you can chill out at the after-work club (1700-1900) or dance all night on the terrace overlooking the harbour to the sounds of R&B, house, ‘black music' and Latin. The very popular Club 3001, Franzius Strasse 7, was the original club at the docks, and is larger than MK2, accommodating over 2,000 revellers.
