Music: Teatro Colon, Calle 10, no 5-32 (tel: (1) 341 0475), is the place to go for opera and classical music. It regularly features international and local artists. Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, Calle 11 no 4-14 (tel: (1) 343 1212) also features international musicians, usually on Wednesdays, while young local artists perform on Mondays. Media Torta on the corner of Calle 18 and Carretera Circunvalacion (tel: (1) 281 7704), puts on free live performances on Sundays (1200-1600).

Theatre: The two main theatres in Bogota are Teatro Colon, Calle 10, no 5-32 (tel: (1) 341 0475), a large theatre showing dramatic and operatic productions, and a piece of history in itself; and Teatro Nacional, Calle 71 no 10-25, which shows similar productions.

More alternative are Teatro de la Candelaria, a smaller theatre specialising in fringe productions, Calle 12 no 2-59 (tel: (1) 281 4814); and Teatro Experimental La Mama, Calle 63 no 9-60 (tel: (1) 211 2709).

Film: Bogota has a number of cinemas, mostly showing Hollywood blockbusters; the biggest is Multiplex Cine Colombia, Calle 24 no 6-01 (tel: (1) 404 2463). Local films and documentaries are shown at Auditorio de la Antigua Calle del Agrado, Calle 16 no 4-75 (tel: (1) 281 4671); Centro Comercial Andino, Carrera 11 no 82-7 (tel: (1) 404 2463); and Cinemateca Distrital, Carrera 7 no 22-79 (tel: (1) 283 5598).
