1155 The first crusade to Finland by the Swedes, who incorporate it into the Swedish realm

Swede Birger Jarl establishes settlements in Tavastia and along the northern coast of Finland

King Gustav Vasa of Sweden becomes a Lutheran. Catholic property is confiscated.
