London Stansted is the nearest international airport to Cambridge, located just 48km (30 miles) to the south of the city.
Facilities at the airport include disabled access, car rental, currency exchange, ATMs, bars, restaurants, shops and baby care facilities. Passengers can take advantage of the Servisair executive lounge, which offers wireless Internet access, but it must be booked in advance. There's an airport information desk in the international arrivals area where staff can assist with rail and bus enquiries, flight information and paging calls. Wireless Internet access is available at the airport.
London Stansted is conveniently situated just off the M11, junction 8 being the one to use for driving to or from Cambridge. National Express operates two bus routes, 717 and 797, with frequent services between the airport and Cambridge. The airport's taxi operator Checkercars (tel: (01279) 661 111 or 0800 747 737) has a reservation desk on the international arrivals concourse. The drive takes about 45 minutes. The train station at the airport is located underneath the terminal, and frequent rains run between Cambridge and the airport seven days a week.
