Javel Nightclub, Lars Hertervigs gate 5 (website: www.javel-nattklubb.no), is a hi-tech nightclub equipped with 20 big video screens, two stages, lasers, projectors and a massive sound system. Hall Toll, Skansegaten 2 (website: www.hall-toll.no) is a restaurant and bar that turns into a rather cool nightclub on Fridays and Saturdays (open until 0330). Café Sting, Valberget 3 (website: www.cafe-sting.no) is a versatile and fun establishment: part restaurant, part bar, part nightclub, it also puts on all kinds of shows, from concerts to cabarets and festivals. The frequent jazz nights are highlights.
Live Music: Checkpoint Charlie, Lars Hertervigs gate 5, is a pub and club with a repertoire that includes rock concerts, club nights and football on the telly. Cementen, Nedre Strandgate 25, is a good venue for indie, jazz and alternative rock. Live jazz, folk and pop can be heard at Martinique, Nytorget 14, on some weekdays. More party-orientated music dominates on Saturdays. There is live jazz at Bevaremegvel Bar & Restaurant, Skagen 12 (website: www.herlige-restauranter.com) on Saturday nights. Hall Toll, Skansegaten 2 (website: www.hall-toll.no), is another restaurant and bar where jazz and pop concerts can be enjoyed. Folken, Ny Olavskleiv 16 (website: www.folken.no), the student society's house in Stavanger, has frequent pop and rock concerts. Tribute, Ole Bull's gate 12, in Sandnes is the concert venue of choice for both Sandnes Blues Club and Sandnes Rock Club, so it hosts frequent rock and blues concerts.
