Bengaluru (Bangalore) Tours of the City

The big international hotels arrange private tailor-made tours of the city and further afield. For public, commercial tours, the main operator is KSTDC (tel: (080) 2287 0068; website: www.karnatakatourism.com). The twice-daily city tour goes to the museum, the Vidhana Soudha, Ulsoor Lake, Lalbagh Gardens, Bull Temple and Tipu Sultan's Palace, and ends up with a long stop at the Government Handicrafts Emporium. The New Bangalore Tour goes to the ‘seven new wonders of the city' including the Iskcon Temple, planetarium and musical fountain. Out-of-town tours go (separately) to Mysore and Sravanabelagola. There is a weekend tour to Hampi, some 200km (124 miles) north of Bengaluru.
