Theatre

The Empire Theatre (tel: 0844 847 2525; www.liverpoolempire.org.uk) is the largest two-tiered theatre in the UK. All have a packed year-round programme of theatre and dance.

Music
The Olympia is one of the city's largest concert venues with an interior modelled on the Moscow Kirov Ballet.

Comedy
Comedy is another important part of the Liverpudlian identity. Some of the city's up-and-coming talent can be caught at the Rawhide Comedy Club close to Lime Street Station.
