Getting There by Air

The national airline is Air Caraïbes (TX) (www.aircaraibes.com). Air France (AF) (www.airfrance.co.uk) and Corsair (SS) (www.corsair.fr) also have routes to the islands.

Approximate Flight Times

From London to Guadeloupe is 12 hours 40 minutes (including stopover time, most often in Paris), and from New York is 6 hours.

Main Airports

Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP) Airport (Le Raizet) (www.guadeloupe.aeroport.fr) is 3km (2 miles) from Pointe-à-Pitre. The airport has two international terminals: Guadeloupe Pôle Caraibes and Le Raizet. To/from the airport: Buses and taxis to the city are available. Car hire is available. Facilities: Banks/ bureaux de change, ATM, duty-free shops, hairdresser, post office, restaurants/bars and tourist information.

Getting There by Water

Guadeloupe is a point of call for international cruise operators. Many ships ply between Guadeloupe and Martinique, and also connect with Miami and San Juan (Puerto Rico).

Ferries
and catamarans sail regularly from Pointe-à-Pitre to Dominica, Martinique and St Lucia. Compagnie Générale Maritime has weekly ‘banana boats’ carrying passengers between Guadeloupe and Martinique, Dominica and St Lucia.
