Country code: 44 (not necessary when dialling from the UK), followed by (0)1534.

Mobile Telephone

Roaming agreements exist with most international mobile phone companies. Many 'Pay As You Go' phones will not work in Jersey.

Internet

There are a number of internet cafes, particularly in St Helier. Internet service is also available at some libraries.

Post

There is a standard one-price rate to the UK, which is, in general, as good as a first-class UK service, although the prices are lower than UK first class. There is also one rate for internal mail. UK stamps are not valid in Jersey. The main post office is in Broad Street, St Helier.

Post office hours: Mon-Fri 0900-1730, Sat 0900-1230.

Press

• Newspapers published in Jersey are the Jersey Evening Post and the Jersey Weekly Post.

TV

• Jersey has two local TV stations, Channel TV and Spotlight Channel Islands.
• Cable and satellite channels are available.
• French TV is also available in Jersey. A French aerial is needed to receive the broadcasts.

Radio

There is a plethora of radio stations to select from.
• On the local front, Radio Jersey offers running commentary on island life.
• Channel 103 is a commercial radio station that plays top hits.
• Radio Guernsey keeps listeners posted on events in the neighbouring island of Guernsey.
• From the UK, Radio One plays current chart hits; Radio Two offers easy listening; Radio Three offers a variety of classical and jazz tunes; Radio Four is a talk radio format that provides commentary on current affairs.
• There is also a large choice of French radio stations to choose from.
