The standard of accommodation in Latvia matches western European levels. There is a broad range of modern hotels and self-catering apartments in Riga, with branches of major international chains and boutique hotels also available. Outside Riga, Latvia offers a range of accommodation, from large hotels to cottages and small pensions. Spa hotels are a popular option, particularly in the coastal resort of Jurmala, providing a combination of modern and traditional spa facilities.

Most of Latvia's campsites are located in picturesque locations accessible from main highways, such as on the Gulf of Riga, and by lakes, forests and rivers. These often also provide spaces for caravans, and some have huts that can be slept in. Apart from the basics, additional facilities can include swimming places, bicycle and boat hire, and saunas. Numerous campsites have undergone an official inspection and certification, and as a result are categorised I-III.
