Namibia Accommodation

Hotels

There are good-quality hotels, some with conference facilities, in Windhoek, Swakopmund and thinly scattered throughout the country. Because accommodation is limited and demand in the most popular areas is high, visitors are advised to book well in advance. For further information, contact the Hospitality Association of Namibia (see Accommodation Information below).

Grading: Hotels are graded on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Lodges

In the Etosha National Park and other game reserves, there are well-equipped rest camps and luxury lodges with comfortable accommodation in cabins or ensuite safari tents. Luxury lodges typically include game drives and other activities in their rates. Reservations for the national parks can be made with Namibia Wildlife Resorts Ltd (see Accommodation Information below).

Camping/Caravanning

Some of the national parks have good camping facilities, notably the Etosha National Park & Game Reserve. There is also camping at Ai-Ais, a hot-spring area towards the South African border, Hardap Dam in the south, Gross Barmen near Okahandja, Popa Falls in Kavango, in the Namib-Naukluft Park and at various places along the coast.

Rural/Farmstay Accommodation

Visitors can experience life on a working farm by staying at one of the many guest farms offering overnight accommodation. Some have swimming pools and other comforts and are able to organise excursions and activties such as game drives and hikes. Contact the Hospitality Association of Namibia for details.
