Ohio Going Out

Food and Drink

Ohio is farm country, with fresh local produce and big wholesome meals.

Regional specialities:
• Corn.
• Fried chicken.

Nightlife

The Flats in Cleveland is a popular nightlife entertainment area, as are the Short North District, German Village and the Brewery District in Columbus. In Cincinnati the pace picks up after dark at The Wharf at Covington Landing and the Oldenberg Brewery Complex. Dayton is known for its jazz clubs, while the blues can be enjoyed at Cleveland's new House of Blues venue.

Shopping

Major outlet shopping centres scatter the state, especially in and around Columbus. The towns of Lebanon and Waynesville are known as the ‘Antiques Capital of the Midwest.' For specialty Amish buys, the best areas for shopping are the 8km (5-mile) radius around Fredericksburg in Wayne County and the area between Charm and Farmerstown in Holmes County.
