Getting There by Air

Presently Air Marshall Islands (CW) offers return flights to Funafuti from Majuro (Marshall Islands) via Tarawa (Kiribati), from Nadi (Fiji) and from Suva (Fiji). Air Fiji also flies between Suva (Fiji) and Funafuti.

Main Airports

Funafuti International (FUN). To/from the airport: Buses run throughout the day(journey time - 30 minutes). Taxis are also available. There is a pick-up service to the only hotel. Facilities: VIP lounge, left luggage and lockers, bank, bureaux de change, restaurant, snack bars, bars, chemist, post office and shops.
Air Passes
Visit the South Pacific Pass: valid with Solomon Airlines (IE), Air Vanuatu (NF), Our Airline (Air Nauru) (ON), Qantas (QF), Air Niugini (PX), Aircalin (SB) and Air Pacific (FJ). The pass allows flexible island-hopping within the South Pacific, for up to 40% off normal airfares.
Departure Tax
A$20. Children under three years of age and transit passengers are exempt.

Getting There by Water

Main port: Funafuti.

Shipping services operate from Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.

Adventure cruises organised by tour operators also call from time to time.
