Vatican coins are similar in value, size and denomination to those of Italy, although the monetary system is separate from that of Italy; the Euro is, however, legal tender in the Vatican City (see Money in the Italy section). Vatican coins are the Gold Lire 100 (nominal); Silver Lire 500; 'Acmonital' Lire 100 and 50; 'Italma' Lire 10, 5 and 1; and 'Bronzital' Lire 20.
