The Brand/Northwest Coastal Highway runs from Perth around the west coast to Kimberley.

Local trains run from Perth to Armadale, Midland, Fremantle and Joondalup. A zonal fare structure covers all transport modes; tickets issued on one mode are valid for transfer to any of the others (bus, rail and ferry). Perth has a central Free Transit Zone (identified by: FTZ) where any bus and train journeys are free. A free CAT (Central Area Transit) Bus service circles the city centres of Perth, Joondalup and Fremantle Monday to Saturday.
