Stockholm Cruise Guide

Overview

Passengers on cruise ships arriving in Stockholm are greeted by one of the most stunning locales of any capital city in the world.

Over 30% of the city is made up of waterways and another 30% is made up of parks and green spaces, giving Stockholm perhaps the freshest air and widest lungs of any European capital.

Stockholm is a thriving, wealthy and modern European city that exudes confidence.

The city's chic boutiques and stylish pavement cafés overflow with affluent, fashion-conscious people who enjoy the culture and lifestyle that has earned the Swedish capital rave reviews from Europe's style magazines.

Sightseeing

Stockholm's beautifully preserved Old Town is the obvious place for any cruise visitor to start, the elegant architecture comparable with any in Europe.

The city offers around 100 palaces and museums, so there is plenty of choice for the culturally inclined, while the historic Cathedral is an elegant highlight.

A well-preserved 17th century pirate ship is centrepiece of the Vasa Museum, Scandinavia's most popular such institution, while the 600-room Royal Palace is still home to Sweden's monarchy.

Highlights:
• Drottningholm Palace
• Waterways boat tours
• Skansen Open Air Museum
• City Museum
• National Museum of Fine Art
• Royal Stables
