Hotels in Dubrovnik
The Dubrovnik hotels below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over 1,500 HRK)
Moderate (500 HRK to 1,500 HRK)
Cheap (up to 500 HRK)
These Dubrovnik hotel prices are the starting prices for a standard double room and include taxes and breakfast unless otherwise specified.
Dubrovnik Palace
A high-end resort hotel located a short drive from the city, Dubrovnik Palace is one for those who like all mod cons with their sea views. It’s a sizeable property, with more than 300 rooms and suites and five restaurants – including a superb sushi bar – but the real appeal lies in the smart, contemporary design and the potential for getting away from it all.
Excelsior Hotel & Spa
The Excelsior Hotel & Spa has been operating since 1913 and, despite being located just outside the Old Town walls, today boasts one of the best luxury reputations in Dubrovnik. A spa and indoor swimming pool are among the highlights, while the panorama over the Adriatic is a further selling point. Past guests include Roger Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, Ivana Trump and Queen Elizabeth II.
The Pucic Palace
With just 19 individually styled rooms and suites, the only truly luxury hotel located within the old city is Dubrovnik's most exclusive address. This 5-star, stone-walled boutique hotel is housed in an 18th-century noble's house. Push the boat out on a suite overlooking bustling Gundulić Square. In summer, staying at the The Pucić Palace also gives you free access to a beach club just outside the town's gate. Other facilities include the Café Royal restaurant, serving a range of tasty international and Croatian dishes (like cheese and truffle ravioli and fresh fish), a wine bar next door and 24-hour room service.
Hotel Bellevue
A recent overhaul transformed this hotel into one of Dubrovnik's most contemporary and stylish addresses. All 93 rooms have stunning views over Miramare Bay. Extras include a restaurant, a wellness centre and beach bar. Good internet rates are available.
Hotel Stari Grad
A reasonably new (and reasonably priced) offering within the city walls, Hotel Stari Grad is a tiny but tastefully furnished hotel in Dubrovnik. The rooms themselves don’t have views to speak of, but the fifth-floor terrace is a great place to breakfast.
Karmen Apartments
Arguably the best location in Dubrovnik; these four excellent-value apartments, run by the colourful Marc van Bloemen, are right in the Old Town on the harbour. Overlooking the medieval walls, apartment one has the best views.
Begović Boarding House
A good cost-effective bet for those who want to be close enough to the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town for easy sightseeing but far enough away to be able to unwind. There are 30 beds in total, and the house has a fantastic terrace overlooking the ocean. There are also apartments for hire, which come with fully equipped kitchens.
Old Town Hostel
A wallet-friendly option offering a selection of dorms and private rooms, the Old Town Hostel has the all-important city location, as well as added extras such as free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and, in the words of the establishment, “free harmony and happiness”. Owner Mike is a well-liked character.
Sumratin Hotel
Situated on the Babin Kuk peninsula, the Sumratin Hotel is one of the few remaining budget hotels in Dubrovnik. Its 44 rooms are clean and comfortable, but don't expect sea views.
