Restaurants in Durban
Food lovers will be more than impressed with the choice of restaurants in Durban, with everything from traditional South Africa fare to spicy Indian cuisine available. The Durban restaurants below have been grouped into three different price categories:
Expensive (over R125)
Moderate (R75 to R125)
Cheap (up to R75)
The prices given are for an average three course meal for one with a half-bottle of house wine or equivalent.
Taco Zulu
Mexican food with a South African influence in the Morningside district, this place has become well established on the Durban eating scene and is a relaxed option with very reasonable prices.
Spiga D'oro
An Italian place in Morningside serving great lashes of Italian food, it's very well known in the neighbourhood. Typical of Italian pavement bistros, this little corner of Italy feels very authentic and is a good antithesis to Durban's spice.
Fabulous
Highly rated Moroccan restaurant opposite Durban's Botanical Gardens, offering an extensive menu served in what the restaurant itself describes as decadent surroundings.
Cargo Hold
Gaze at the monster predators through the glass tank of the shark aquarium at uShaka Marina, while dining on some of the best fish dishes, done with an international twist, in Durban.
9th Avenue Bistro
Award-winning chef Carly Goncalves serves up international food of the highest quality in the unpretentious surroundings of his Greyville restaurant.
