Flying to Copenhagen

Airlines offering flights to Copenhagen from the UK include British Airways, easyJet, Norwegian and SAS. It’s cheapest to fly to Copenhagen in the winter (December to February) as the weather is much colder. Flights are more expensive in the summer (June to August), especially in July when the Danes tend to holiday themselves. SAS also operates direct flights to Copenhagen from the USA.

Summary:

The legal driving age in Denmark is 18 years. The speed limit in Denmark is 130kph (80mph) on motorways, 80kph (50mph) on main roads and 50kph (31mph) in urban areas. Traffic drives on the right hand side. Drivers must keep their headlights switched on at all times, including during the day.

An International Driving Permit is not required but may be preferable if your national driving licence is not in English. Although not necessary, Green Card insurance is recommended. There are emergency phones along all Danish motorways at intervals of 2km (1.2 miles).

Routes:

Highway E20 crosses Denmark from west to east and intersects with E47 and E55 to the southwest of Copenhagen. The E47 runs south to Rødbyhavn, with ferry connections to Germany and the E55 heads north towards Helsingor. Tolls apply across the Storebaelt bridge between Sjælland and Fyn, and the Øresund Bridge between Sjælland in Denmark and Scania in Sweden.
